Fire Damage Cleaning In Communal Close In Record Time

Fire Damage Cleaning team complete work in Communal Close in Record time by Rainbow Out of Hours Team.

Rainbow were contacted by a local housing provider following a fire in a communal close at a three storey property.  The fire started just after midnight and was so intense that all the residents, some of whom were children, had to be rescued from the property.  Some of the adults and children rescued were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure as all five flats in the property were affected by smoke.  The fire service are currently investigating the cause of the fire.

The housing provider asked our team to attend to assess the possibility of cleaning the communal areas which had heavy soot contamination and was preventing the tenants getting access to their homes.

As the fire happened at the weekend, our Out of Hours Team were called to attend to undertake an inspection and a test clean to ascertain how successful cleaning would be.  Once they knew they could make a good improvement on the condition of the communal close they advised the housing provider that they could commence work straight away.

The team worked tirelessly on Saturday and Sunday and managed to remove most of the soot from the affected areas.  They noted recommendations for other required works such as plasterers, painters etc to be completed in order that the affected area could be restored to its former glory.  I am sure you will agree that the results were amazing?

Their hard work and dedication to the job was noted by the Chief Executive of the organisation who sent an email expressing her delight at the work completed in the tight timescale allowing residents to return to their properties as soon as possible.

Here is an extract from her email:

“Thanks for getting this out to us so promptly and for attending the close on a Sunday, it’s very much appreciated. We have some of our team round there this morning taking away the rest of the plaster work etc. and have contractors coming out throughout the day to look at the works that are required to get the close back to its original condition and to take on board your recommendations outlined in your report. Thanks again for your assistance and quick response, it is very much appreciated”
